I am a little shocked that I have not put Sufjan Stevens up here earlier. I have been in love with his latest album "Carrie & Lowell" a real back to basics folk feel that hits hard on some deep and not always clean meanings. "Should Have Known Better" is a good example of a song that bring a soft but deep cut right in your heart. It has a real personal feel to it. My only issue is that his vocals never really pick up and can leave it feeling like there are no "high" point on the album. I can also say that he did this fully knowing this, just wanting to give the feeling like there was no power left in him after dealing with these situations he's singing about. Sadly it just feels like it looses it's meaning near the end of the album. Anyways There is still a lot to love on this album and Sufjan Stevens has created a deeply, personally, sad album that can hit home for everyone.
